Fairfax 250 LEGO Exhibit To Open At Tysons Corner Center July 22

A new LEGO exhibit celebrating Fairfax County's 250th anniversary opens July 22 at Tysons Corner Center.

TYSONS, VA — A new interactive LEGO display highlighting Fairfax County's history, landmarks and communities will open later this month at Tysons Corner Center as part of the county's 250th anniversary celebration.

Fairfax County, Tysons Corner Center and the Northern Virginia LEGO Users Group (NOVA-LUG) will officially unveil the exhibit during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22. The display is located near the LEGO Store and Wasabi inside the shopping center at 1961 Chain Bridge Road in Tysons.

Display Highlights All Nine Magisterial Districts

The exhibit features custom-built LEGO "My Own Creations," or MOCs, representing each of Fairfax County's nine magisterial districts, along with LEGO mosaics of the Fairfax 250 logo.

According to organizers, the installation is designed to showcase the county's history, neighborhoods and landmarks through LEGO creations while encouraging visitors to learn more about Fairfax County's communities.

The display will remain on view through early January 2027 and will be updated monthly with new scenes. Organizers plan to conclude the exhibit with seasonal neighborhood streetscapes during the holiday season.

Ribbon Cutting Planned July 22

Fairfax County Supervisor Dalia A. Palchik (D-Providence) is scheduled to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside representatives from Tysons Corner Center, Visit Fairfax and NOVA-LUG.

Following brief remarks, visitors will be able to tour the exhibit and meet members of NOVA-LUG, the volunteer organization that created the custom LEGO models.

The installation is intended to mark Fairfax County's 250th anniversary through community storytelling and interactive displays while encouraging repeat visits as new scenes are added throughout the year.
