Malicious Wounding, Burglary Lead Weekend Crime Report in McLean District

The wounding incident occurred at a school baseball field on Saturday afternoon. The burglary occurred on Friday afternoon.

Fairfax County Police reported a malicious wounding in McLean in its weekend crime report, released Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred on the 7700 block of Leesburg Pike on Saturday at approximately 3:40 p.m. The victim was playing in a school baseball field and was struck in the upper body with what police said appeared to be a metal pellet.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police also reported a burglary on the 2100 block of Arrowleaf Drive in McLean over the weekend. The incident occurred at 2:10 p.m. on Friday. A resident contacted police and reported someone entered a residence and took property.
