Man Dies In 2-Vehicle Crash On Georgetown Pike In McLean
A man died in a crash when his vehicle was sideswiped and left the road, according to Fairfax County Police.

MCLEAN, VA — A driver died following a two-vehicle crash in McLean on Saturday, according to Fairfax County Police.
The crash happened around 11:37 p.m. Saturday on Georgetown Pike. The driver of a 2012 Nissan Sentra was heading east when a westbound 2019 Range Rover attempted to turn left onto Langley Lane. The Range Rover sideswiped the Nissan, causing the Nissan to leave the road and end up in a ditch.
The Nissan driver, Andre Newman, 65, of Fairfax, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died of his injuries the next morning at the hospital. The driver of the Range Rover and three juvenile passengers were not injured. The vehicle remained on the scene.

This was the 17th non-pedestrian crash fatality in Fairfax County this year. By this time in 2020, there were 10 non-pedestrian crash fatalities.
Preliminary investigation by detectives determined speed and alcohol are not likely factors in the crash. The investigation remains active, and police will provide findings to the commonwealth's attorney for review.
