MCLEAN, VA — McLean Community Center is looking for artists interested in creating two public art projects to celebrate the center's 50th anniversary in 2025.

The first project will be a mural to highlight the diversity of the McLean community. An artist or a team of artists will fabricate and install the mural on the real wall of the Old Firehouse Center at 1440 Chain Bridge Road in August 2025. Artists invited to submit a proposal for review and participate in an interview will receive a $500 honorarium. The budget for this project is $30,000.

Artists interested in being considered for the mural project must submit an application, preliminary submission materials, resume, professional recommendations and image of past works through the CaFÉ portal by Aug. 16.

The second project will be a sculpture that will be installed spring 2025 outside the MCC building at 1234 Ingleside Ave. The installation will be placed on the grassy area at the corner of Ingleside and Oak Ridge avenues.

Artists invited to submit a proposal for review and participate in an interview will receive a $500 honorarium. The budget for this project is $80,000.
