McLean 5K Run with the Warriors Expecting Rise in Participation

The annual fundraising run, slated for the morning of Oct. 3, has raised more than $214,000 since 2011.

The McLean 5K Run with the Warriors is back for another year, and this time around event organizers expect participation to increase by over 50 percent from the 2014 run.

So far they anticipate more than 1,200 runners and walkers participating in the 5K, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 6331 Old Dominion Drive in downtown McLean.

The McLean 5K will partner with Under Armour this year in hopes of raising even more money to support Wounded Warrior Transitional Housing, which helps provide housing for wounded soldiers or veterans returning from service in the military.
