McLean-Based KETTLER Names Tim Johnson Chief Investment Officer
McLean-based KETTLER said Tim Johnson joined the firm as chief investment officer.

MCLEAN, VA — McLean-based real estate firm KETTLER announced Wednesday that Tim Johnson has joined the company as chief investment officer.
Johnson is joining KETTLER's leadership team as the company expands its development, investment and property management platform across what it described as high-growth markets, according to a release. The company is headquartered in McLean and manages about 30,000 apartments in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Southwest regions, according to the announcement.
Johnson most recently served as managing partner at Avid Ventures, where he led real estate investment and development across Florida markets, according to KETTLER. Before that, he was chief financial officer at Strategic Property Partners in Tampa, where KETTLER said he helped guide the financial strategy of a $3 billion mixed-use development platform and contributed to Water Street Tampa.

His previous roles also include senior leadership positions with Kitson & Partners and Colonial Properties Trust, according to the announcement. Johnson also served as vice president for the Southeast at Milhaus Development, focusing on market-rate multifamily opportunities and leading new business development, site selection and deal structuring across the region.

“Tim’s experience across some of the most dynamic growth markets in the country, particularly in Florida and the Southeast, aligns directly with where we are headed as a company,” KETTLER President Cindy Fisher said. “He brings a thoughtful, disciplined approach to investing and a deep understanding of how to scale strategically. Johnson said he was drawn to the company’s long-term approach. “KETTLER has a proven track record of disciplined growth and a clear vision for the future,” he said. “As a family-owned company, that long-term perspective is embedded in how it invests and operates. I look forward to working with our team and partners to execute on that strategy and continue building a strong, resilient portfolio.”
Johnson earned a bachelor of science in finance, summa cum laude, from the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business, according to KETTLER. He is active in the UF Bergstrom Real Estate Center Advisory Board, Urban Land Institute and International Council of Shopping Centers.
