McLean Day Returns To Full Festival In 2022

MCLEAN, VA — For the first time since 2019, McLean Day will be held in its regular format. McLean Day was canceled in 2020 and held as a drive-thru in 2021.

McLean Day is the community's largest festival, typically drawing 10,000 people. The 2022 event will be held on Saturday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lewinsville Park, 1659 Chain Bridge Road, McLean. A preview event with rides only will be held Friday, May 20 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

McLean Day 2022 will feature carnival rides, music, games, balloon animals, a petting zoo, sponsors, exhibitors, food trucks and other entertainment. Ride tickets may be purchased on site or in advance. An unlimited ride wristband is available for the presale price of $20 until 2 p.m. on May 20.

The McLean Day event is also the last chance to vote in the 2022 McLean Community Center governing board election. In-person voting will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for residents of Dranesville District #1A (McLean Community Center tax district). There are nine adults running for three adult board seats, and three teens are running for two teen board seats. See candidate statements here.

The 11-member governing board sets policies and budget for the McLean Community Center as well as provides oversight for programs and facilities. Adults serve three-year terms on the board, while youth candidates serve one-year terms. Youth board members include one from the McLean High School boundaries and one from Langley High School boundaries.

There will be several public transportation options to the event. Free Fairfax Connector shuttles will take attendees to McLean Day from different parking locations. The Red shuttle will pick up at McLean Baptist Church, 1367 Chain Bridge Road, at the church entrance in the parking lot. The yellow shuttle will pick up at the McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Avenue, at the main entrance. The Blue shuttle will pick up at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1205 Dolley Madison Boulevard, at the church entrance in the parking lot. Fairfax Connector Route 721 is also available for $2 each way to stop ID 5429. Shuttles are ADA and wheelchair accessible and allow service animals.
