McLean Restaurant Inspections: 11 Violations At One Place

MCLEAN, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from recent inspections in mid July. Among these are 11 violations at Asia Origin. Also included are restaurants with no violations.

violations: employees not able to demonstrate proper sanitizing of dishes, food surfaces, employee handling food without gloves, raw foods stored over ready-to-eat foods, unlabeled sugar, salt containers, boxes of fish and meat stored on freezer floor, foods with no raw-undercooked disclosure on menu

Cafe Tatti: 6627 Old Dominion Dr, Mclean, VA 22101, last inspection: July 18 (follow up)

violation: accumulations of grime on sides of oven, grill, stove

Lebanese Taverna: 1840-G Galleria at Tysons II, Mclean, VA 22102, last inspection: July 17

violations: potential cross contamination of raw meats, foods cold holding at improper temperatures, coolers not operating properly

Panda Express: 7941L Tysons Corner Ctr, Mclean, VA 22102, last inspection: July 19

violation: mold on soda nozzles
