McLean Restaurant Inspections: Mold Grows On Berries

MCLEAN, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from McLean and Tysons inspections in late September and early October. Among the violations was mold growing on strawberries at AMC Theaters in Tysons Corner Center. The violation was corrected during the inspection.

Madison Deli: 1320 Old Chain Bridge Rd. #140, Mclean, VA 22101, last inspection: Oct. 3

violations: foods cold holding at improper temperatures (corrected), pesticide improperly stored in the facility , food on menu without raw/undercooked disclosure

Pulcinella Italian Host: 6852 Old Dominion Dr, Mclean, VA 22101, last inspection: Oct. 2

violations: employees not changing gloves after washing dishes, employee drinking from open container, raw food stored over ready-to-eat food (all corrected)
