McLean Restaurant Ranked A Top Cheap Eat Of The Year

A Washington Post food critic named the McLean restaurant one of the best cheap eats in the Baltimore-Washington region.

MCLEAN, VA—The reviews are in, and McLean can claim one of the best cheap meals of 2017, at least according to The Washington Post. LoKL Gourmet, offering deli specialties at 8100 Old Dominion Drive, Suite E, was ranked eighth among 10 Baltimore-Washington region restaurants by food critic Tim Carman.

LoKL Gourmet opened in January 2016 and has made quite the impression among diners. It was among four restaurants ranked from Northern Virginia, three from Maryland and three from DC. Carman determined the top cheap eats for his $20 Diner column after visiting 100 restaurants over the past year.

Carman describes LoKL Gourmet as a "part gourmet market, part health food store, part locavore sandwich shop" offering many locally-sourced ingredients and products. The deli serves up everything from sandwiches, salads and made-to-order juices, but one of his favorites was the Dad's Meatball Sub, which comes from a family recipe and is "steeped in homemade pleasures."
