McLean Youth Soccer Team Wins State Championship

U15 Boys Green team wins Virginia State Cup Championship. Prepares for Regionals.

The McLean U15 Boys Green won the US Youth Soccer 2015 Virginia State Cup championship game held in Fredericksburg.

The team defeated SOCA-CHAR U15B Elite from Charlottesville by a score of 1-0. In the semi-finals, the team overcame Loudoun Red by a score of 2-1. Sixty-four U15 boys’ teams from the state competed for the crown. A combination of single elimination and round robin for the final eight were combined this year.

With the victory, the team will travel to Barboursville, VA in late June for the Regional Championship games.

The team is coached by Jamil Walker, a former MLS professional player with DC United, who was earlier named the 2014 NSCAA Youth National Coach of the Year.
