Metro Announces Weekend Track Work, Update to Labor Day Schedule
The Metrorail system will operate on a Sunday schedule on Labor Day, and off-peak fares will be in effect all day.

Metro announced weekend track reconstruction on the Silver, Orange, Red and Blue lines for this coming weekend, including the Labor Day holiday.
Repairs will begin on Friday, Sept. 4, at 10 p.m. and will continue through Labor Day. Orange and Silver line trains will operate every 26 minutes through the weekend as a result of these repairs.
Metro also announced an amended schedule for Labor Day. The system will open at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, and will remain open until midnight. Delays from the reconstruction will still be in effect, but the system will otherwise operate on a Sunday schedule. Off-peak fares will be in effect all day, and parking will be free at all Metrorail facilities.
