New Preschool Opens In Tysons Corner Monday

The Goddard School, a preschool with numerous locations around the DC area, opened this week in Tysons. The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 27.

The 11,000-square-foot preschool is located in an office building nearby the Tysons Corner Medical Center. It services Vienna, Falls Church, McLean and Reston children from infants through Pre-K with a play-based learning curriculum.

The Goddard School’s play-based program is based on research that found children learn best when they're having fun. The program seeks to build children’s emotional, academic, social, creative and physical skills.

Co-owners Laura and Bradly Dinder and Ross Flax seek to meet the growing community’s demand for early childhood education.

"After contemplating childcare options and career changes, I knew I wanted to become actively involved in my family’s life while providing my future children with a strong academic start in a supportive and loving environment," said Laura Dinder, the on-site owner.

Prior to opening The Goddard School located in Tysons, Laura Dinder worked for Johns Hopkins University, managing business operations, finances and research finances for the hospital’s interventional radiology division. She worked as a management consultant for The Goddard School in Rockville, Md. since 2017.

"The Goddard School’s mission of helping children foster a love of learning echoes my own philosophy that education is a life-long journey, and those that are taught to enjoy excel and thrive in any environment," Laura Dinder said. "I believe that the first few years of a child’s life are the most important time for development – socially, emotionally and academically."

The new Tysons school is one of over 480 Goddard Schools in 36 states serving more than 65,000 students. The childcare franchise aims at opening a 500th location in the future.
