Next Downtown McLean Study Meeting Coming Up

The second half of the revised comprehensive plan draft was released on Wednesday.

MCLEAN, VA — The next meeting of the downtown McLean study task force will be held Monday, June 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The meeting will be held on WebEx with login information shared on the McLean Community Business Center Study website.

The task force, made up of McLean residents and civic group representatives, is working with Fairfax County staff to update the comprehensive plan for McLean Community Business Center, also known as downtown McLean. This plan guides future planning and development, including land uses, development intensities, transportation, public facilities and design standards.

After public and task force feedback, the draft text of the comprehensive plan was revised. The first set of the revised draft comprehensive plan text was released on May 15, and the revised second set was released on June 24. The upcoming meeting will focus discussion on the second set of draft text.

The final comprehensive plan for the McLean Community Business Center is expected to go to the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors for public hearings later in 2020. Residents can follow updates in the process at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/planning-development/mclean-cbc-study.
