Oktoberfest At Claude Moore Farm To Feature Beer, Fun

Celebrate Oktoberfest 18th century style at Claude Moore Colonial Farm's upcoming event.

MCLEAN, VA—There's still time to enjoy special events at Claude Moore Colonial Farm before it's set to close on Dec. 21. One of these events is Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at The Pavilions of Turkey Run, 6310 Georgetown Pike, McLean.

The Bavarian-themed festival features beer and cider tastings, a catered meal, silent auction, DJ and dancing. The silent auction prizes include local wineries, passes to Skyline and Luray Caverns and Potomac Riverboat, Pilates classes and more.

The food menu offers grilled bratwurst and knockwurst on potato buns, barbecued marinated chicken breast, sauerkraut and German potato salad, fresh vegetable sauté and Caesar salad, jumbo soft pretzels with mustard, warm peach cobbler, vanilla and chocolate ice cream with toppings. The Defender American Pale Ale and Oktoberfest Lager will be available at a cash bar.

Officials will also discuss the latest update on the Save the Farm effort.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $25 for farm volunteers and $12 for children ages six-12. Children under six are free. All proceeds benefit Claude Moore Colonial Farm, which runs a living history program depicting 18th century farm life.
