Person Rescued From Flooded Waters In Tysons
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue made a swiftwater rescue on a flooded road.

Update: The road has reopened.
TYSONS, VA — A person was rescued from a car stuck in floodwaters Friday morning in Tysons.
Crews made the swiftwater rescue at Old Courthouse Road and Besley Road, according to a Fairfax County Fire and Rescue tweet sent around 7:30 a.m. Crews were able to rescue the person, and no injuries were reported.

High floodwater temporarily closed Old Courthouse Road and Besley Road and other intersections around Fairfax County. Parts of Fairfax County were under a flood warning Friday morning. According to the National Weather Service, small streams in central Fairfax County are flooding, causing water to flow onto multiple roads.
Areas that are at risk for flooding include, Annandale, Fairfax, Vienna, Mantua, Burke, Oakton, Tysons Corner, Lorton, Wolf Trap, Merrifield, Newington, I66 and I495 Interchange,West Springfield, Fairfax Station, Dunn Loring, North Springfield and Ravensworth.

The heavy rain has concluded, but streams are expected to be flooded over the banks for a few hours. Drivers should avoid driving through flooded waters on roads.
