Person Rescued From Trench In McLean, Sent To Hospital
Crews extricated a person stuck in a trench in front of a home. He was taken to the hospital.
MCLEAN, VA — A person stuck in a trench prompted a rescue effort by the fire department Wednesday morning in McLean.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue tweeted at 7:40 a.m. crews responded to the 1100 block of Towlston Road. A technical rescue team arrived to extricate the person.
After 10 a.m., the fire department reported the person had been rescued from the trench. The person was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Crews stabilized the trench admist the rescue efforts. According to WTOP, the person got stuck while working on waterproofing in the trench. Another person had been stuck in the trench but had escaped.
In McLean where a construction worker doing some water proofing suddenly became trapped and buried up tp his chest. For two hours crews have been trying to gently dig him out. There is optimism this ends better than it could have. More today @WTOP pic.twitter.com/kV6scGKiEa
