Police Apprehend Violent Man in Basement of Great Falls Home

The man showed obvious signs of self-inflicted injuries when police arrived on the scene. He was transported to a local hospital.

Fairfax County Police responded to a call Sunday night about an aggressive man causing harm to himself and others in a home on the 10900 block of Great Passage Court in Great Falls.

The call was made at approximately 7 p.m., and when authorities arrived on the man was in the basement of the home destroying property with obvious signs of self-inflicted injuries.

After the man ignored officers’ verbal commands, they deployed the pepperball system, but the man’s violent nature persisted. Police eventually deployed the conductive energy weapon and took the man into custody under an Emergency Custody Order.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and issued a mental health evaluation.
