Police Say Missing Woman's Body Recovered From River: Report

The report of her disappearance on Feb. 6 led to a massive search along the Potomac.

GREAT FALLS, VA — The U.S. Park Police announced Tuesday that the body of a Virginia woman who went missing Feb. 6 from the Great Falls area was recovered Friday in the Potomac River, according to a media report.

The woman was identified as Becky McCleskey, 56, WJLA-TV Channel 7 reported. The police said there were no indications of foul play.

Her remains were recovered Friday near the Old Angler's Inn in Potomac, Md., the TV station reported.

The woman's family reported her missing on the evening of Feb. 6, and McCleskey's car was found in a parking lot in Great Falls, on the Virginia side of the Potomac, Channel 7 reported.

The report triggered a massive search by authorities that night until the following day. Personnel from the U.S. Park Police, the Montgomery County, Md., Police and the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Department searched the river in boats, and searched on foot along the banks.

The U.S. Park police also scanned the area from a helicopter. The search was suspended on Feb. 7.
