#Pray4BMan: Caps Hockey Team Gets Behind One of Their Youngest Fans

An outpouring of prayers goes viral on social media, for recovery of 6-year old McLean boy Bensten, after tragic sledding crash.

Friends, family, local residents and members and fans of the Washington Capitals hockey team are rallying this weekend behind Bensten, the 6-year-old McLean boy who was critically injured in a sledding crash last week.

Bensten is a big fan of the hockey team. He and his siblings built a snowman last Tuesday during a school snow day, adorning it in a Caps jersey. The next day Bensten, playing on his sled, crashed into a passing car. He was flown to Fairfax Inova hospital in critical condition, according to Fairfax County Police.

After Caps team owner Ted Leonsis found out about the young fan, he posted this message on his blog, “Ted’s Take”:

On the Caps blog mentioned by Leonsis, “Russian Machine Never Breaks” (a nod to players Alex Ovechkin, Dmitry Orlov, and Evgeny Kuznetsov), a story Friday prompted more than 100 fans to post their support for the young fan’s recovery.

Meanwhile on Saturday, a paramedic who helped on the flight to the hospital last week stopped by Bensten’s hospital room to check on him, according to a message and photo posted to social media.
