Purse Robbery Reported Along Leesburg Pike

The robbery occurred Wednesday morning when the victim exited a bus, asked a man for directions, and had a purse taken by force.

Fairfax County Police have reported a robbery out of their McLean district Wednesday.

The robbery took place along the 7700 block of Leesburg Pike at 9:05 a.m. The victim had reportedly just exited a bus, and approached a man to ask for direction. The man proceeded to take the victim’s purse by force, and then promptly fled the scene.

Officers reported to the scene and surveyed the area with assistance from the police helicopter and K9, but their search produced “negative results,” according to Wednesday’s Daily Police Blotter.

The victim described the suspect as a black male standing 6-feet tall with a thin build. He was reportedly wearing a red shirt, light pants and a black beanie on his head.

The victim did not require medical attention.
