Region's Tallest Building Proposed In Tysons To Get 'Skygarden'

A developer has altered plans for the proposed building set to be taller than the Washington Monument.

TYSONS, VA—Plans have been altered for the Tysons development set to become the tallest building in the DC region. The 600-foot tall building, which would be taller than the Washington Monument, will feature a rooftop garden at the top.

The development near the Spring Hill Metro was originally planned to have residential units, a hotel and retail, but new plans propose office space with a "Skygarden" and public atrium, Washington Business Journal reports. The “SkyGarden would provide 360-degree views, according to the Business Journal. Other features include a civic plaza, an "art walk" and three theaters.

It still has to go through the approval process, although the changes reportedly resulted from recommendations county staff made.
