Restaurant To Open At Capital One Center's Watermark Hotel
Wren, a restaurant with Japanese-American cuisine, will open on the 11th floor of the hotel at Capital One Center.

TYSONS, VA — A Japanese-American restaurant will offer sky-level dining on the 11th floor of the Watermark Hotel at Capital One Center in Tysons. Wren, a restaurant from Chef Yo Matsuzaki, will open in October at Capital One Center, a new development that hosts retail and a hotel alongside Capital One's headquarters.
Wren offers diners a "bird’s eye view" of Tysons while they enjoy Japanese-American food and libations. Wren refers to the Japanese word for love, giving a nod to Japan for inspiring the restaurant's atmosphere.
Chef Yo will lead the restaurant after working as a corporate chef for Ozumo Concepts International in Northern California and most recently Zentan DC. A Native of Japan, he learned French cuisine at the Institute of Culinary Education and by working at multiple French restaurants in New York. He went on to work at Nobu, a Japanese restaurant in New York.

At Wren, Matsuzaki aims to provide an approachable yet sophisticated cuisine, combining Japanese street food with modern American. The menu will feature small plate-style food, from oysters and sashimi to baby beet salad with yuzu pistachio vinaigrette or grilled Angus ribeye. Locally-grown ingredients will be utilized in the menu.
Beverage director Luis Mantilla will provide a selection of curated cocktails, locally crafted beer and wine paired with the cuisine. A roving cocktail cart will be inside the restaurant.

Given the restaurant's location near Capital One headquarters and the Capital One Hall performance venue, Wren seeks to be a destination for happy hours, or place to stop before and after theater performances.
"Our inspiration is derived from 'izakaya,' the Japanese concept of having a place to gather together to relax and chat while enjoying good food and drink," said Chef Yo in a statement.
The Watermark Hotel is connected to the recently-opened Perch, a sky park and biergarten located on the 11th floor of the Capital One Hall. Starr Hill Biergarten anchors The Perch along with a park, games plaza and outdoor performance stage.
The Watermark Hotel is located at 1825 Capital One Drive South, Tysons. Once Wren is open, hours will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for the restaurant and 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. for the bar.
