If the last couple of weeks are any indication, summer is arriving early in McLean.<br /><br />After a cool and wet spring, the recent stretch of warm temperatures has many families thinking about pool days, summer activities, and how they want to spend the months ahead. With Fairfax County schools preparing to wrap up for the year, now is the perfect time to make plans for a summer filled with recreation, friendship, and community.<br /><br />The McLean Swim &amp; Tennis Association (MSTA) is currently welcoming new members and, unlike many area clubs, we have both Equity and Seasonal Rental Memberships available with no waiting list.<br /><br />Located in the heart of McLean, MSTA offers a family-friendly environment where members can enjoy swimming, tennis, social events, and a strong sense of community throughout the summer season.<br /><br />For families looking to keep children active during the school break, MSTA is home to the McLean Marlins Swim Team and offers opportunities for swimmers of all experience levels. Whether your child is just learning the fundamentals of competitive swimming or is looking to continue developing their racing skills, there are opportunities to participate and grow in a supportive environment.<br /><br />In addition to swim team activities, MSTA hosts summer swim camps and tennis camps that help children stay active, build confidence, and make new friends during the summer months. These programs are designed to be fun, engaging, and accessible to a wide range of ages and skill levels.<br /><br />While children enjoy camps, swim team, and recreational activities, parents can take advantage of the club's pool, tennis courts, and social atmosphere. <p>At Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS), one of the region’s largest and most established human services nonprofits, we believe every child deserves to walk into the classroom on the first day of school feeling confident, prepared, and ready to learn. But for many local families, the excitement of a new school year is overshadowed by the financial stress of buying school supplies. By helping families meet this essential need, we can ease financial pressure and give students the tools they need to succeed from day one.</p>
<p>This summer, NVFS is bringing together individuals, businesses, and community partners from across Northern Virginia, to provide new backpacks and essential school supplies to more than 1,500 local students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Together, we're helping children feel prepared for the school year ahead while easing the financial burden on families working toward greater stability.</p>
<p>You can help families start the school year with confidence. Whether you donate, host a supply drive, or spread the word, every contribution helps equip students for success in the classroom, and strengthens families across our community.</p>

<p>Take a step toward better health and connect with others! This free, community-friendly walking program brings people together in a relaxed and supportive environment. Each gathering is simply a comfortable walk you can enjoy at your own pace. After our walk, all are welcome to stay and have coffee together.</p>
<p>Everyone is welcome, all ages, abilities, and fitness levels. Each session lasts about 45 minutes and is designed to help you move, breathe and enjoy meaningful conversation along the way. It’s a wonderful way to stay active, connect with neighbors and make new friends.</p>
<p>We meet on the second Thursday of every month at 9 a.m. Join us at Tysons Galleria. Meet in atrium near the escalators closest to Neiman Marcus on the ground floor.</p>
