Parents Caught Selling Their Kids For Drugs In LA County: Police

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department detectives say a couple in Lancaster tried to trade or sell their little boys for drugs: BREAKING.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A couple in Lancaster allegedly tried to sell their children or exchange them for drugs, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded to a report of child abuse on the 100 block of Avenue J-8 Thursday and found the pair peddling their two little boys, according to to Ali Villalobos of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lancaster Station.

"Deputies contacted the suspects and determined ... (they) had been attempting to give and/or sell their children in exchange for money or drugs," Villalobos said.

The two boys, who are both under 14-years-old, were taken into the custody of the county Department of Children and Family Services. Detectives are working to determine if other suspects are involved in the abuse of the children. Their parents, Vincent Calogero, 38, and Sarah Nilson, 32, were arrested on suspicion of felony child endangerment, child neglect and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Their bail has been set at $100,000.

The pair will return to court on Wednesday for a bail hearing.
