Suspected Child Predator May Have Targeted Additional Minors Online

TYSONS, VA — Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department's Child Exploitation Unit are seeking potential victims in connection with their recent investigation of an online predator.

Investigators from the McLean District Station received a tip around 6:52 p.m., on June 7, concerning a man inappropriately communicating with an underage victim on the internet. Police located the suspect, whom they identified as 41-year-old Gerry Frank Burde of Herndon, at a location in Tysons Corner where he planned to meet a potential victim.

Following a thorough investigation, detectives arrested Burde, who was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with use of communications system to solicit a minor, attempted forcible intercourse with a victim under 13 years old, and indecent liberties with a child under 15, according to police.

Investigators believe that Burde may have contacted other victims on internet platforms like Snapchat (username: drunkslovepunch) or Whisper (username: Tempo_Ex). Anyone who may have interacted with Burde or has information about this case is asked to call 703-246-7800, option 6.
