A Taste Of Urbanspace Food Hall Opens At Tysons Galleria

The food hall in the former Isabella Eatery space will start with five food concepts. All five are small businesses.

A Taste of Urbanspace food hall, which replaces Isabella Eatery on the third floor of Tysons Galleria, is open as of 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

The food hall initially has five food concepts, all of which are small businesses based in the DC area. The restaurants include: Stomping Ground Cafe, Andy’s Pizza, Ice Cream Jubilee, Donburi and Sen Khao. Others may be announced in the future.

"As the Tysons market continues to evolve within the Nation’s Capital, we remain committed to offering a fresh experience for our shoppers and believe that the dynamic food hall offering that Urbanspace will present will be a welcome addition to the center and to the larger community," says Rich Dinning, senior general manager of Tysons Galleria in a statement.

A Taste of Urbanspace will be open Monday to Saturday 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and 7 a.m.-9 p.m. for coffee as well as Sunday noon-6 p.m. It will be closed on Christmas Day.

Urbanspace, a developer of public markets, was originally founded in the UK and put down its roots in the U.S. nearly 25 years ago. Known for food halls and pop-up markets throughout New York City, it has plans to expand to Los Angeles and Chicago in addition to the new Tysons development.

The food hall fills a void left when Isabella Eatery closed in August. After Mike Isabella's nine-concept food hall opened in late 2017, it struggled after a former employee filed a sexual harassment lawsuit. Isabella filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September.
