Thieves Target McLean's Village Eye Center In Break-In

There have been a few recent incidents of thefts from eyeglass stores, most recently in McLean Tuesday evening.

MCLEAN, VA — Police are investigating a larceny from an eyeglass store in McLean Tuesday evening.

According to a police report, the incident happened at Village Eye Center, 1471 Chain Bridge Road, around 5:41 p.m. Tuesday. Police say four men entered the business and broke open display cases. After stealing property from the business, the men fled in a white SUV. There were no injuries reported. No arrests have been announced.

There have been several smash-and-grab incidents impacting local eyeglass stores, NBC4 reported. The television station said the incidents appear to target small optical stores to steal designer eyeglass frames. There have been incidents reported in January at locations in Arlington, Alexandria and Friendship Heights.
