As the official start of fall approaches, you'll want to mark your calendars for these fun fall events.

MCLEAN, VA — When summer officially ends, pumpkin patches, festivals and other fall events abound. McLean has a number of events worth checking out.
We've rounded up some of the fall event highlights around McLean. Among the events are the Harvest Happenings, Howl’oween Pooch Parade and Wine, Cider & Beer Festival. Some events are ticketed; others are free. Check for other community events on our McLean Patch calendar.

- Sept. 13-Nov. 3: Halloween Selfie Museum at Tysons Corner Center: This pop-up exhibit features Halloween and horror sets, activities and photo opportunities.
- Sept. 14: McLean Fall Community Garage Sale: Find bargains at this garage sale with over 50 vendors.
- Sept. 26: McLean Project for the Arts Opening Exhibition Reception: McLean Project for the Arts (MPA) opens two new exhibitions in the Emerson and Atrium Galleries.
- Sept. 28: Harvest Happenings: Enjoy live entertainment, food, pumpkin decorating, crafts and other activities at this indoor event.
- Sept. 28: Saint John the Beloved Fall Festival: This event features children's rides, movies and food; a beer and wine garden for the adults and more.
- Oct. 5: McLean 5K: The McLean 5K Run returns to benefit the McLean Community Foundation.
- Oct. 6: MPAartfest: This 13th annual festival turns McLean Central Park into an outdoor art gallery with live music, food, kids' activities and more.
- Oct. 12: Wine, Cider & Beer Festival at Tysons Biergarten: This tasting event will feature over 50 different beers, wines and ciders.
- Oct. 20: Pet Fest and Howl’oween Pooch Parade: Bring costumed pets to participate in the parade and browse pet care exhibitors.
- Oct. 31: Halloween Spooktacular in Great Falls: Kids up to age 12 can get dressed up in their Halloween costumes, try the Haunted House, and trick-or-treat.
- Nov. 9-10: McLean Antiques Show & Sale: This event features dealers representing American, Continental and Asian antiques with admission proceeds benefiting the James C. Macdonald Scholarship Fund.
