Tysons Tobacco Shop Robbery Tied With Kingstowne Incident

BREAKING: The unknown suspects in Saturday's Tysons and Kingstowne robberies were working together, Fairfax County police say.

MCLEAN, VA -- Video surveillance footage determined that the unknown suspects in Saturday robberies at a Tysons Cigar World and Kingstowne Exxon gas station were working together. The incidents happened within a few hours of each other, and one of the unknown suspects was involved in both robberies, Fairfax County Police say.

In Tysons, the upscale tobacco shop Cigar World was robbed around 8:30 p.m. Saturday night. According to a police report, two unknown male suspects and demanded cash from the store employee while displaying a handgun. The 25-year-old female employee gave the men an undisclosed amount of cash, and they fled. The victim was not injured.

The other robbery happened around 10:20 p.m. Saturday night at the Exxon at 6948 S Kings Hwy near Kingstowne Towne Center. A 25-year-old employee was talking to a customer when a man entered and demanded cash while implying a weapon. The unknown suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money. The employee was not injured.

One suspect is described as white or Hispanic, in his mid 20s, around 6 feet tall with multiple tattoos and 160 to 180 pounds. The second suspect is described as Hispanic or black, in his mid 20s, around 5 feet 8 inches, 180 to 220 pounds and was wore sunglasses in both robberies.
