Upcoming Tysons Construction To Cause Overnight Delays

VDOT crews will demolish parts of the original Route 7 bridge over Dulles Toll Road in Tysons. Overnight drivers should expect delays.

TYSONS, VA — Upcoming interchange reconstruction along Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) at Dulles Toll Road will impact overnight drivers in the Tysons area. Delays are expected as traffic will shift at various parts of the night on Monday, June 26 and Tuesday, June 27, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The work is part of a longer VDOT project to widen the bridge over Dulles Toll Road and replace the deck. The lane shifts will allow crews to demolish the remaining parts of the original bridge. On both nights, shifts will occur between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

On June 26, westbound Route 7 traffic on the bridge will shift to the right as the loop ramp from westbound Route 7 to westbound Dulles Toll Road reopens to traffic. The temporary ramp (across from Jarrett Valley Drive) westbound Route 7 to Dulles Toll Road will close. On June 27, Route 7 traffic heading east will shift to the left onto the new bridge and then shift to the right off the bridge.

Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes due to expected delays. Work is weather permitting.
