Venture Inside Giant Snow Globe, Other Holiday Events At The Boro

TYSONS, VA — The Boro, a mixed-use development off Leesburg Pike in Tysons, will transform into a winter wonderland for the holiday season. Winter Boroland kicks off Saturday, Dec. 4.

The development has numerous special events planned for the season. From an ongoing giant snow globe installation to a visit with Santa, you'll find some family-friendly activities throughout December.

The Boro development is located between Leesburg Pike, Westpark Drive and Greensboro Drive. There are various restaurant options on site, as well as retail like the anchoring Whole Foods Market and the ShowPlace ICON Theatre. The Boro has parking garages and lots on site or is accessible by the nearby Greensboro Metro station on the Silver Line.

Snow Globe installation: Throughout the holiday season

The Boro has installed a giant snow globe at the center of Boro Park that you can step inside for holiday photo ops.

Snow Day at the North Pole: Dec. 4, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This Après Ski-themed party is the kickoff to the holiday season. The giant snow globe will be lit up, and "snow" will fill the air. The event will also feature decorating snow globes and ornaments as well as custom holiday cocktails. Donations benefiting Toys for Tots will be accepted during and after the event. The event is free, but registration is required on Eventbrite.

Story Time with Santa: Dec. 11, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Santa is coming to town for photo ops and story time. Between story readings, guests can visit the hot cocoa bar and pop-up bookstore from Turning the Page. Donations for Toys for Tots will be accepted during and after the event. The event is free, but registration is required on Eventbrite.

Holiday Movie Pajama Party: Dec. 18, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The ShowPlace ICON Theater at The Boro will open for a pajama party featuring your favorite holiday movies. Enjoy the show, then visit the lobby for themed music, candy-filled goodie bags, crafts and a photo booth. There will be a social media PJ contest for the chance to win a $100 gift card for the movies. The schedule for movies is "Elf" at 10:15 a.m., "The Polar Express" at 10:30 a.m., and "Dr. Suess's How The Grinch Stole Christmas" (2000) at 10:45 a.m. Admission is $6 and includes a small drink and popcorn.
