Virginia Stars Black Win Ripken Easter Classic Championship

Virginia Stars Black were undefeated in pool play; went on to beat the number one seed in the championship game with final record of 5-0-1.

The under-12 Virginia Stars Black travel baseball team won the Ripken 12U Easter Holiday Classic Tournament last weekend in Aberdeen, Md. There were 10 teams in the 12U division. The Virginia Stars Black were undefeated in pool play and went on to beat the number one seed in the championship game with a final record of 5-0-1.

The championship game was won 13-2 in five innings. The game was a truly dominating team effort against their opponents, Team B.E.A.S.T from Commack, N.Y.

The Stars were led by manager Brian Morabito, along with fellow coaches David Canellos, Steve Gatti and Lawton Brown. The team is made up of players from the McLean area and includes Eric Alexander, Garrett Appleton, Garrett Brown, Conner Canellos, Casey Cook, Nick Faili, Anthony Farmakides, Brian Gatti, Luke Jackman, Tommy Leimkuhler, Cory McLucas and Nicholas Morabito.
