The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation will offer more than three dozen hikes on more than 30 state lands and parks, as part of a nationwide event sponsored by America’s State Parks.
All of the Commonwealth's parks will waive admission fees that day to encourage residents to start the New Year right. The first 100 visitors to each park will receive a commemorative bumper sticker. And the parks aren't just open for hikes, there are also options for strolling, biking, horseback riding, rambling, and wildlife viewing.
