He will have the opportunity to share his story, "The Magical Adventures of Grayson and Bubba," on a DVD that will be produced as part of a virtual celebration of contest winners at a later date.
When his story was written, Grayson was a first grader in Carolyn Harris' classroom. Harris, an alumna of the Eastern Virginia Writing Project at William & Mary and an accomplished teacher of primary writing, has taught contest-winning writers in three previous years and says, "I am so grateful to WHRO for all of the literacy opportunities they provide to my students."
The PBS KIDS Writers Contest is part of PBS KIDS Raising Readers and is funded in part by a Ready to Learn grant, in a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Education and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
