HPD: Investigation continues into deadly August shooting, more than 50 rounds fired (wavy.com) — Hampton police are still investigating an August shooting at Newmarket Square’s parking lot that left 25-year-old Kamaar Robinson dead after more than 50 rounds were fired near the Hampton–Newport News line. Detectives believe multiple suspects were involved and are urging anyone who saw or heard anything, even from inside nearby club The Alley, to contact the Crime Line to help bring closure to Robinson’s family.
   

2. Bishop Leah Daughtry to headline Hampton NAACP's 54th Annual Life Membership Awards (wavy.com) — Hampton residents can hear national civil rights leader Bishop Leah Daughtry speak at the Hampton NAACP’s 54th Annual Life Membership Awards on Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. The celebration, themed “We the People: Empowering Voices, Inspiring Action,” will honor individuals and organizations whose long-term service advances the NAACP’s mission of civic engagement and community empowerment.
   

3. 60-year-old safety patrol worker identified in fatal I-64 crash (pilotonline.com) — A 60-year-old Hampton man, Clayton Fitchett, has been identified as the Safety Service Patrol worker killed in a September crash on I-64 in Newport News. State police say he was struck by a fleeing orange Dodge Charger after an earlier collision, and investigators are still asking anyone with information about that vehicle or the crash to come forward.
   

4. Public Records: New facilities manager at Hampton's Power Plant; former motorcycle shop sells in Virginia Beach (pilotonline.com) — Several Hampton businesses, including tenants on Lockwood Drive, Aberdeen Road, and Incubator Road, have renewed industrial and retail leases, signaling continued commercial stability in the city. The Power Plant of Hampton Roads on Power Plant Parkway also has a new facilities manager, which could shape future retail, dining, and entertainment offerings for local visitors and workers.
   

5. Arkansas Highway Workers From Cleburne And Newton Counties Recognized Nationally (arkansasradio.com) — Hampton’s own Hampton Roads Convention Center recently hosted a major Southeastern Regional Equipment Operators Training Conference and Roadeo, drawing skilled highway workers from across the Southeast. Among the competitors were Arkansas supervisors Nick Rushing and Nathan Daniels, recognized for their motor grader skills in an event that emphasizes safety, precision, and professional development in road maintenance.
