Hampton house fire results in 2 deaths, including a child (pilotonline.com) — Two people, including a child, died after a Monday morning house fire on Chippendale Court near West Mercury Boulevard in Hampton, despite firefighters’ rapid response and aggressive rescue efforts. Investigators are still working to determine the cause, and officials have not yet released the victims’ names or details about how many people were inside.

'I Always Thought I Was Going To Hit The Lottery': Virginia Woman Wins $1 Million At Wawa (dailyvoice.com) — A Hampton woman quietly scored a $1 million top prize from a Virginia Lottery Winners Club scratcher bought at the Wawa on East Mercury Boulevard. She chose a lump-sum payout and says she’ll use the money to support her family, while the winning ticket also closes out the now-ended scratcher game.
3. New food locker at Obici puts healthy meals closer to home (suffolknewsherald.com) — A new food locker at Sentara Obici in Suffolk is expanding access to free, healthy meals, with Suffolk Christian Fellowship Center keeping the food fresh and safe. Sentara already runs a similar locker at Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, partnering with Virginia Peninsula Foodbank to support local families facing tough food choices.
4. FedEx closing some local Ship Centers in company overhaul (wavy.com) — Some FedEx Ship Centers in Hampton Roads are closing as part of the company’s multi‑year Network 2.0 overhaul, which could change where Hampton residents drop off and pick up packages. FedEx plans to consolidate Ground and Express operations, close hundreds of locations nationwide, and says the redesign should improve efficiency and service while cutting costs.

- Saw these beautiful dogs running around Robinson Park tonight around 8pm.
I assume they came out of someone’s backyard. Very friendly. Couldn’t quite fetch them though. (Nextdoor Oldewythe) - Someone was asking about restaurants serving Italian food.
There are many, but I recommend UR Pizzeria on Cunningham Dr in Hampton. Its specialty is Pizza, and they have a very large menu of choices … (Nextdoor Old Meribeth)
