The upgrade, tied to the new Isle Maritime Trades Academy, aims to connect local teens with high-wage maritime and defense careers through industry-standard equipment, simulators, and safer, larger training space. 
• Andy Anderson, former Wayne County commissioner, dies at 90 (newsargus.com) — A former Wayne County, North Carolina commissioner and Air Force veteran, Wilbur “Andy” Anderson, passed away in Smithfield, Va., at age 90. Friends and colleagues recall his decades of public service, from championing I-795 and veterans’ cemetery projects to expanding local aviation facilities and serving on multiple county boards.
