Oakton Gas Station Robbery Tied To 18 Regional Crimes
Police say an Oakton robbery and 18 others in the region are connected.
OAKTON, VA—Fairfax County Police and authorities from other local jurisdictions are seeking suspects in 19 robberies, including one in Oakton. Detectives believe all of the incidents are connected.
The Oakton robbery was the first of the 19, happening at an Exxon gas station (2957 Chain Bridge Road) Jan. 19 around 9:50 p.m. to 10:50 p.m. Eight of the other robberies also happened in Fairfax County and two in the Town of Herndon, the latest being Thursday shortly before midnight at a Centreville Sunoco. The remaining eight incidents happened in Loudoun County.
Fairfax County detectives are working with the Herndon Police Department, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force to identify the suspects. The suspects appear to be men between 5 foot 4 and 6 foot tall. Surveillance footage shows one of the suspects appearing to be armed with a rifle during a Feb. 10 Herndon robbery.

- Exxon, 2990 Centreville Road, Herndon, Feb. 10, 1:53 a.m.
- 7-Eleven, 11501 Leesburg Pike, Herndon, Feb. 11, 10:57 p.m.
- Sunoco, 11190 South Lakes Drive, Reston, Feb. 13, 10:04 p.m.
- Subway, 5047 Westfields Boulevard, Centreville, Feb. 15, 9:11 p.m.
- Shell, 12219 Leesburg Pike, Herndon, Feb. 19, 10:20 p.m.
- Sunoco, 1496 North Point Village Center, Reston, Feb. 19 11:06 p.m.
- Sunoco: 5000 Westone Drive, Centreville, Feb. 21, 11:57 p.m.
