Alexandria Business Nominated For Best Tech Work Culture

A co-working space for military veterans in Alexandria is up for one of Tech in Motion's Timmy Awards.

OLD TOWN ALEXANDRIA, VA - From Tech in Motion: DC announced Capitol Post as a finalist for the “Best Tech Work Culture” category for its Third Annual Timmy Awards, which recognizes the top workplaces for tech professionals. Capitol Post, a co-working space for military veterans and spouses, joins a list of notable finalists including Brazen, Upskill, and Mobile Posse, chosen from a field of more than 65 nominees.

“We are excited and honored to have been selected among the top ten finalists for ‘Best Tech Work Culture’,” says Emily McMahan, Executive Director of Capitol Post. “We pride ourselves on building an inclusive and modern co-working space where military veterans and their spouses can effectively propel their businesses forward.”

Capitol Post’s co-working space is specifically designed for collaboration between members with low-mounted desk dividers, a combination of standing and seated workstations, and an open floor plan. Capitol Post’s members and staff meet regularly for group brainstorming sessions and idea mapping in modern, collaborative meeting rooms with full AV support, dry-erasable walls, and ipad room reservations.

“The Timmy Awards aim to celebrate the companies and managers that make that technological innovation possible,” says Mandy Walker, Director of Marketing at Tech in Motion and Motion Recruitment Partners. “Since the Timmy Awards were created in 2015, over 400 finalists have been celebrated for creating work environments that enable growth in the technology of various industries.”

The local community can vote online through September 8 to help choose who represents the best of DC tech. The winners will be chosen through a panel of expert judges and community votes. Award winners will be announced live at DC’s Timmy Awards on September 28 at 1776 Crystal City in Arlington, where members of the DC tech community can attend for free and meet the finalists.
