Alexandria Chamber Names Business Leader of the Year
E. Hunt Burke, Chairman and CEO at Burke & Herbert Bank, has been selected as the Chamber 2016 Business Leader of the Year.

E. Hunt Burke, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Burke & Herbert Bank, has been selected as the Chamber 2016 Business Leader of the Year and will be honored on October 19th during the Chamber's annual Business Awards Reception. This year's event, commencing at 6 p.m. at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial, will also honor Alexandria businesses in the following categories: Large Business, Medium Business, Small Business, Rising Star Business, Association/Non-Profit, and overall Business of the Year.
"The Alexandria Chamber is deeply proud to honor Mr. Burke and have him join an exceptional list of business leaders as a recipient of our Business Leader of the Year Award. We appreciate his dedication of time and resources given back to the community that have been proven immeasurable. His considerable contributions make him a superb candidate for this year's award," stated Joe Haggerty, President & CEO of the Chamber.

E. Hunt Burke is a member of the fifth generation of his family to operate Virginia's oldest bank. He has worked at the bank in a variety of roles since the age of 13 and as a full time team member for 37 years. Mr. Burke is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Burke & Herbert Bank.
Hunt is a life-time Alexandrian. He attended The Episcopal High School and the University of Richmond, then received his B.A. from George Mason University while working full-time at the bank. He graduated with honors from the Graduate School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia. Through his education and experience, Hunt has proven himself a results-oriented leader and passionate supporter of Alexandria's business community.

Hunt is active in several community organizations including INOVA Alexandria Hospital Foundation Board and The Campagna Center. His past service has included Director on the Board for Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Elder Crafters of Alexandria, the Alexandria Chapter of the American Red Cross, Alexandria Business Cares Foundation, Friends of Carlyle House and Alexandria Neighborhood Kids at Risk.
Hunt and Molly, his wife of 32 years, reside in Alexandria. Their four daughters have run off to take the world by storm. His granddaughter is the light of his life and refers to him as "Guppie."
