Alexandria Grocery Store Hours On Thanksgiving

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Even after several trips to the store this week, it's almost a guarantee that someone will still have to run out for last-minute purchases of dinner rolls, whipped cream, wine or stuffing mix. Which grocery stores will be open on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 23, and how about Black Friday, if you need to stock up to feed guests?

Some food stores in the region — Giant, Wegmans, Whole Foods and Safeway — are open on Thanksgiving, but close early, so check on individual stores for their hours. The day after, most return to normal operating hours. Other chains, including ALDI and Costco, are closed for the holiday. (See full list below.)

• Harris Teeter: 735 N Saint Asaph St, Old Town Alexandria, Alexandria, VA 22314. Stores close at 2 p.m. Locations will return to regular hours on Friday, Nov. 24.
• Aldi: 425 E Monroe Ave, Alexandria, VA 22301. Closed on Thanksgiving.
• Wegmans: 7905 Hilltop Village Center Drive Alexandria, VA 22315 Hours: 6 a.m.-4 p.m. Stores re-open at 7 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24.
• Target: Potomac Yard Center, 3101 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305. Hours: 6 p.m.-midnight. Stores re-open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.
• Trader Joe's: 612 N St Asaph St, Alexandria, VA 22314. Closed on Thanksgiving.
• Whole Foods: Duke Street Plaza, 1700 Duke St, Alexandria, VA 22314. Hours: 7 a.m.- 5 p.m.
• Safeway: 500 S Royal St, Alexandria, VA 22314. Hours: 5 a.m.-7 p.m. 3526 King St, Alexandria, VA 22302. Hours: Midnight-7 p.m.
• BJ's Wholesale: 101 S. Van Dorn St.Alexandria, VA 22304. Closed on Thanksgiving.
