Wednesday Night: Alexandria Police to Hold Follow-up Community Meeting

Police will address concerns from earlier meeting.

Members of the Alexandria Police Department will hold a community meeting to follow up on concerns expressed at an earlier meeting, held July 6, at the Charles Houston Recreation Center at 901 Wythe St.

The follow-up community meeting is set for tonight, Wednesday, July 29, at 7 p.m., at the rec center.

The original meeting was held to address the Thursday night, July 2, fatal shooting in the 700 block of N. Fayette Street.

The meeting was organized to discuss concerns about the shooting that left a Woodbridge man dead.

Police are asking residents to come to the meeting to discuss the incident and to further communication between the police department and the community.
