Alexandria Summer Sidewalk Sale To Feature Over 40 Businesses In 2022

The annual sidewalk sale will feature steep discounts from local boutiques and live music on King Street.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria's annual Summer Sidewalk Sale will draw shoppers to King Street and surrounding areas to score discounts from local boutiques. The 2022 Alexandria Summer Sidewalk Sale is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 13 in Old Town and several other locations.

Over 40 local boutiques are expected to participate in this year's sale, offering significant discounts on summer merchandise. Products will range from clothes and jewelry to plants, books, pet products, home décor and more.

In between shopping, visitors can enjoy live music at the corner of Fayette and King streets and the unit block of King Street at the waterfront.

During the week of the sale, a map of participating businesses will be posted online at AlexandriaSidewalkSale.com. On Aug. 13, shoppers can access the map via a QR code on posters at participating stores or pick up a map at the Alexandria Visitor Center, 221 King Street.

The sale is held by Visit Alexandria in partnership with the City of Alexandria and Old Town Business Association. Visitors are encouraged to park in parking garages in Old Town. City-run garages with a $5 maximum rate on weekends include 10 Thompson's Alley, 220 N. Union Street, 106 N. Fairfax Street, 111 S. Pitt Street, and 418 Cameron Street.
