According to court documents, the gun was found after Jackson sped past a state trooper at more than 100 mph on I-95 in Fairfax County on April 17, 2025. The trooper pursued Jackson, who then crashed into a vehicle parked on the shoulder and then 2 other vehicles on the highway.

Jackson got out of his vehicle, tried to get into 2 others, and was finally caught after he tried to jump through an open window on a third vehicle, but was injured after the driver accelerated away and ran him over.

When Jackson’s vehicle was searched, the trooper found a loaded Glock semi-automatic pistol with a machine gun conversion device rendering it capable of fully automatic firing, as well as a 31-round magazine. According to the statement of facts, Jackson had bought the gun in February of that year.

Court documents also say that Jackson was asked about his occupation while receiving medical treatment and told a nurse that he sells drugs.

In 2022, Jackson, then 18, was charged in connection with a shooting at the Potomac Mills Mall and pleaded guilty to unlawful discharge of a firearm within an occupied building, felony destruction of property, and carrying a concealed weapon. He was sentenced to time served and was given an 11-year suspended sentence. As a result of that felony conviction, Jackson can’t legally possess firearms or ammunition.
