Made in ALX, in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, is excited to welcome kids ages 6 to 13 to our summer art camps! Your kids can paint, sculpt and craft in a positive and supportive environment with small class sizes (just 10 kids per session). These week-long, half-day camps are hosted both mornings and afternoons for children ages 6 to 9 or 10 to 13. Classes are taught by an experienced and loved Fairfax County Public Schools art teacher. In 2010, Bonnie was awarded the New Orleans MFA poetry prize: a month’s stay with Ezra Pound’s daughter Mary in her castle in Northern Italy. In 2017, she completed the Graduate Institute program at St. John’s College, in Annapolis, Maryland. For years, Bonnie has led weekly poetry sessions at Miriam's Kitchen, a day shelter for the homeless, and at Street Sense. She also leads regular poetry salons at Ingleside, a retirement center; all are located in Washington DC.

Spring Into Art @ National Harbor ~ Mother’s Day Celebration 

Little Shop of Horrors follows nerdy florist Seymour Krelborn, who finds fame and fortune after discovering a mysterious, alien plant he names "Audrey II". The R&amp;B-singing, man-eating plant is very demanding, forcing Seymour to do his bidding.
Little Shop of Horrors centers on themes of fatal ambition, greed, and the high cost of success. It explores the dangers of giving in to temptation, the exploitation of the poor, and the destruction caused by unbridled desire.
The musical features a mix of dark comedy, rock-and-roll, and doo-wop music, exploring themes of greed and sacrifice. Performed by 46 Alexandria youth, this promises to be one of the most dynamic and entertaining local production you will see this year.
