I-66 Crash, New Traffic Pattern, Storms: DC, NoVA Morning Traffic
Good morning, Northern Virginia. Here's everything you need to know for your Monday morning commute.

NORTHERN VIRGINIA — Happy Monday, Northern Virginia and DC Patch readers! Many students around the region are heading back to school this week, so be on the lookout for kids crossing the road and school buses at bus stops. On the Road
As of 7:16 a.m., a crash on westbound I-66 is still causing delays east of the Beltway in Fairfax County. Backups are around 1 mile.
As of 6:52 a.m., a disabled vehicle is causing delays and closed the right shoulder on southbound I-95 near Prince William County Parkway in Prince William County.

As of 6:42 a.m., a disabled tractor-trailer closed the southbound right shoulder on I-95 south of Route 630/Courthouse Road in Stafford County.
As of 6:41 a.m., a crash blocked the left side of the northbound ramp from Route 15 to eastbound Route 7 in Leesburg.
As of 6:30 a.m. a crash on the I-95 reversible Express Lanes was reported south of Franconia Road in Fairfax County. The northbound right shoulder is closed.
As of 6:05 a.m., an oversized vehicle blocked the left lane of the northbound 3rd Street Tunnel before the I-395 Southeast-Southwest Freeway in Washington, DC.
Drivers should be alert to a new traffic pattern at the eastbound I-66 exits to Route 50 in Fairfax County.
On the Metro
On the Orange Line, the Minnesota Ave, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover and New Carrollton remain closed through Labor Day due to a summer platform improvement project. Local and express shuttles are available at Stadium-Armory.
Weather
Patchy fog will linger before 9 a.m., then mostly cloudy with a high near 85. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible today, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m. At night, showers and thunderstorms are likely before 11 p.m., then a slight chance of showers continues between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. The skies will gradually become mostly clear with a low around 70.
