Juvenile Charged For Middle School Bomb Threats In Alexandria
Police investigated a series of 911 hang-up calls but found no threats.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Alexandria Police say they've identified and charged a juvenile for bomb threats against Francis C. Hammond Middle School in recent months.
The juvenile was charged with false summoning of law enforcement officials and threats to bomb. Police say the juvenile made phone calls regarding Hammond Middle School between December 2018 and February.
The school went on lockdown following the 911 hang-up calls in December and several times in January. No threats were found during searches of the building.

"The repeated calls caused a disruption of education for students, and requests to neighboring jurisdictions for police assistance in searching the building for possible threats to students and staff," Alexandria Police said in a statement.
In one of the incidents, the 911 hang-up call happened at the start of the school day. The school was evacuated while students' buses were diverted to T.C. Williams High School for part of the day. The other lockdowns happened during the school day, and classes continued in secured classrooms.
