Planning Commission and City Council hearings on a master plan amendment to the 2009 Landmark/Van Dorn Corridor Plan could begin as soon as April, according to the current schedule.

The Howard Hughes Corporation, which owns part of the mall site, indicated it's ready to move forward with redevelopment with some changes. The framework for the new Landmark Mall was previously approved under the Landmark/Van Dorn Corridor Plan in 2009. The vision for redevelopment is a mixed-use center with transit and community open spaces.

The city anticipates much of the framework will remain the same, but the community feedback process could bring in other considerations: new and flexible uses, signature building and new city policies on traffic safety and multimodal transportation.
