Old Town North Bus Barn 2-Acre Site for Sale

Property is in the heart of Old Town North, two blocks from Potomac River.

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority or WMATA, released a property solicitation for bid for a key site in Old Town North, according to a report by the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership.

The property sits at 600 N. Royal St. (see map) and is the location of a former bus maintenance and storage facility that was vacated in August 2014, according to the AEDP report.

The 2-acre site covers a full city block and is two blocks from the Potomac River in the heart of Old Town North. The redevelopment of this property has been a priority of the Alexandria City Council and administration, as well as the surrounding community.

“We look forward to redevelopment of the site that is appropriate for the neighborhood, improves our quality of life, and benefits our residents,” Mayor Bill Euille said.

The solicitation can be downloaded here- bids are due by July 17.
