Philly Mass Shooting Suspect Arrested In Alexandria: Feds

One of four suspects in a bus stop mass shooting that injured eight teens in Philadelphia was arrested in Alexandria, authorities said.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A fourth suspect in a Philadelphia bus stop mass shooting that injured eight teens was arrested in Alexandria Tuesday, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Asir Boone, 17, was the fourth and final suspect wanted in the March 6 shooting at a SEPTA bus stop in Philadelphia. Boone was wanted on charges of attempted murder, firearms violations and other related charges after an arrest warrant was issued on March 12.

Also arrested and charged so far are Ahnile Buggs, Jamaal Tucker, both 18, and Jermahd Carter, 19. All are charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and more crimes related to the March 6 shooting.

Around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, the U.S. Marshal Service responded to an apartment in the 700 block of Seaton Avenue in Alexandria, where they believed Boone was hiding with a woman who had ties to Philadelphia. Investigators located Boone in the apartment and took him into custody. He was taken to Alexandria authorities for processing.

"I hope this final arrest brings some comfort to the student victims of this senseless
crime," said Robert Clark, the supervisory deputy U.S. marshal for the Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force. "No child should have to fear for their safety while receiving an education and I hope these arrests can subside that fear."

The shooting happened around 2:59 p.m. on March 6 in the 7300 block of Rising Sun Avenue in Philadelphia. Authorities said the suspects fired multiple rounds at a group of Northeast High School students who were boarding a SEPTA bus.

One of the victims, a 16-year-old boy, was left in critical condition after being shot nine times throughout his body, police said.

The victims range from age 15 to 17; the seven other teens injured are all in stable condition after suffering gunshot wounds to various body parts, police said.

Police said three handguns were involved in the shooting and 34 empty cartridges were found on the scene.
